Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On said yesterday that the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) would participate in the redevelopment of Coloane’s Lai Chi Vun Village.
Chui made the remarks while speaking to reporters at the airport before departing for a working visit to Fujian province.A total of 11 dilapidated shipyards out of 14 in Coloane’s Lai Chi Vun Village will be demolished starting next month due to their state of disrepair causing a potential safety hazard, according to the government.
The demolition of two shipyards in the poorest condition will begin next month, to be followed by nine others, the government has said.
