The vibrant atmosphere of inclusivity returns as the fifth edition of the “Todos Fest! Inclusive Arts Festival” takes place on March 1-2 at the Small Auditorium and Art Plaza of the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) in Nape.

“Todos” is Portuguese for “everyone”.

According to a statement earlier this week by local art organisation Comuna de Pedra, this year’s festival, sponsored by integrated resort operator Sands China, features a diverse range of programmes, including performances, film screenings, workshops and an inclusive market.

The statement noted that this year’s festival will open with a performance by “French dance revolutionary” Jérôme Bel’s acclaimed work “Gala”, a 90-minute performance that features both professional dancers and amateur performers.

The statement added that on the programme is also Macau film director Kinkuan Chao’s (周建君) recent work “Nice to Meet You”, a documentary that follows three actors with physical and mental disabilities strolling around Macau, accompanied by their drama mentors.

Todos Fest! continues to support inclusivity in the arts, uniting local, international, and Hong Kong artists, local volunteers, community organisations, seniors, and individuals with physical and mental disabilities, the statement said.

Festival Curator and Director of Comuna de Pedra (meaning “Stone Community” in English), Jenny Mok Sin Teng (莫倩婷), expressed her enthusiasm, with the statement quoting her as saying: “The concept of inclusivity, which has been at the heart of our festival, is gaining more attention and profoundly impacting our community.”
