The Macau Carers Association is planning to set up a recorded message hotline which will provide cognitive tests to detect dementia in the elderly, Lam In Nie, who heads the group, said yesterday.
According to Wikipedia, dementia is a broad category of brain diseases that cause a long term and often gradual decrease in the ability to think and remember, which has a great effect on a person’s daily functioning.
Lam made the remarks on the sidelines of a press conference at Macau Tower about the group’s future co-operation with local enterprises and the private Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC).
