The Government Information Bureau (GCS) announced yesterday the schedule of debates for the Legislative Assembly (AL) on the policy objectives of the new government, among which Chief Executive Sam Hou Fai will deliver his first policy address starting at 3 p.m. on Monday, April 14.
According to a GCS statement, Sam will also answer questions about his 2025 Policy Address during a press conference to be held at the Government Headquarters slated to begin at 5:30 p.m. on April 14, right after delivering his policy address in the Legislative Assembly’s hemicycle. A plenum in the hemicycle commencing at 3 p.m. the following day will be a Q&A session to answer lawmakers’ questions about the policy address.
Macau’s fiscal year runs on a calendar-year basis.
The bureau stated that the policy address, press conference, and Q&A session will be broadcast live on the TV and radio channels of public broadcaster TDM. The public can also watch the proceedings online through various platforms: the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government Portal at www.gov.mo; the Chief Executive’s Office website at www.gce.gov.mo; the Legislative Assembly website at www.al.gov.mo; and the Government Information Bureau website at www.gcs.gov.mo. Additionally, they can view the official YouTube channels of the Chief Executive’s Office at www.youtube.com/c/gcegovmo and the Government Information Bureau at www.youtube.com/macaogcs, as well as the Government Information Bureau’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/macaogcs.

Meanwhile, Sam’s five policy secretaries will present their respective portfolio guidelines to the legislature from April17-30 – Secretary for Administration and Justice André Cheong Weng Chon on April 17, Secretary for Finance and Economy Anton Tai Kin Ip on April 23, Secretary for Security Wong Sio Chak on April 25, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Wallis O Lam on April 28, and Secretary for Transport and Public Works Raymond Tam Vai Man on April 30.
Each session is planned to last for about 10 hours, running from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
