Macau residents can submit entries for the “Champion Car of the First Asian Grand Prix Macau – Illustration Competition” themed around the Triumph TR2 driven by the champion of the Macau Grand Prix (MGP) in 1954, according to a statement from the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO).

The theme will revolve around the Macau Grand Prix Museum exhibit and have it featured as the core subject.

Organised by the museum and the Macau Creations Limited, the competition is split into the “Secondary School” category for students aged between 13 and 18, and the “Public” category for those aged 19 and above. The contest invites residents to “explore the glorious history and cultural value of Macau motorsport through artistic creation”.

Entries can be submitted until April 20. The statement said that entries must be original illustrations on A3 paper, adding that digital painting or AI-generated works will not be accepted.

Public voting will make up 30 percent of the score, while 70 percent will be given by a judging panel, according to the statement. The results of the first round will be announced late this month while the final results will be unveiled on May 19.

The awards to be presented in each category consist of the first, second and third awards, merit awards, online choice awards and finalist awards, the statement pointed out.

The statement added that an award ceremony will then be held on May 23 at the Macau Grand Prix Museum in Nape. Moreover, the statement said that the winning works will be exhibited at the museum from May 23 through September 1.
