MGM is set to continue its “Gastronomic Journey with Star Chef” series with the “Maritime Silk Road Culinary Art Feast”, an event aimed to solidify Macau’s status as a Creative City of Gastronomy, with culinary events slated for tonight and tomorrow night, according to a recent statement from MGM.

The statement noted that in the series, which kicked off this month, MGM’s culinary team will collaborate with celebrated chefs from across China under the theme “Maritime Silk Road Culinary Art Feast”.

Tonight and tomorrow night’s culinary event, set to take place at Imperial Court at MGM MACAU, will feature Chef Yang Yanbin, Executive Chef of Hokkien Cuisine Restaurant, collaborating with MGM MACAU’s Executive Chef Homan Tsui in crafting a menu that “celebrates a clash of Lingnan and Fujian regional traditions, with an artistic modern flair”, according to the statement.

The statement said that Yang, a native of Fujian’s port city of Quanzhou and the recipient of the Michelin Young Chef Award 2024, is known for his innovative approach to Fujian cuisine, skilfully incorporating local Sichuan ingredients. Tsui, recognised for his refined interpretation of Lingnan culinary art, will complement this collaboration with his expertise.

The statement emphasised that the event will feature a unique four-hand menu that highlights artisanal cooking techniques and tea culture, offering guests a sensory journey from Quanzhou to Macau. The statement added that the menu will include Yang’s signature dishes such as Braised Sea Cucumber with Ginger, while Tsui will also present dishes such as Double-boiled Sea Whelk Soup with Fresh Yellow Fungus.

The statement said that the six-course lunch is priced at 1,800 patacas, while the eight-course dinner is priced at 2,800. Guests can also explore POLY MGM MUSEUM through an exclusive guided tour.
