The government is studying the feasibility of temporarily pedestrianising Taipa Village during the upcoming mainland’s Labour Day holiday period, according to a statement jointly released by several public entities yesterday via the Government Information Bureau (GCS).
The temporary pedestrianisation of Taipa Village was first implemented during last year’s mainland Chinese New Year Golden Week holiday period, after which it was implemented again during last year’s mainland National Day Golden Week holiday period.
It was implemented again during this year’s Chinese New Year Golden Week holiday period.
It would be the first time for pedestrianisation to be implemented during the mainland’s May Day holiday.

This file photo jointly released by several government entities shows a boy posing for a photo with Macau’s tourism mascot Mak Mak among crowds of visitors in the temporarily pedestrianised Taipa Village during this year’s Chinese New Year holiday.
