Uber drivers said yesterday that their job gives them the freedom to work a flexible schedule, reconnect with family members and make friends with customers.
Speaking to The Macau Post Daily at IFT café at Anim’Arte Nam Van, Yip, a 55-year-old single mother and former casino worker, said she has worked as an Uber driver for a year.
Female drivers are still a minority in the profession in Macau. Asked by The Macau Post Daily about female drivers’ special strengths, Yip said some female customers had told her they felt safer to get in a car driven by a woman. She added: “When it’s late at night, I will drive off only after my female customer has entered the residential building where she lives.”
