The 13th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) concluded on Sunday, with the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) noting in a statement yesterday that 59 contracts were signed and 16,225 online and offline business matching sessions were held.
The three-day expo, themed “Explore MITE, Experience the World” and featuring six new highlights, was held at The Venetian Macao’s Cotai Expo and this year received over 38,000 visitors, 1,000 more than last year, the statement noted.
The statement said that the 59 contracts signed, which is four more than last year, were for cooperation in fields such as tourism, health and wellness, “IP trendy fun”, educational tourism, and culture. The statement added that 125 enterprises signed the contracts, an increase of 18 from last year’s fair.
The 16,225 business matching sessions also marked a rise of over 1,000 compared to last year, while online sessions continued through yesterday, the statement said.
Moreover, this year’s expo saw a 50 percent increase in international exhibitor booths. The statement said that 755 tourism-related enterprises and governmental entities from 70 countries and regions set up 1,502 booths at the expo, which also included 496 hosted buyers* from around the world.
The cumulative live-stream views and pageviews, meanwhile, exceeded 26 million. Moreover, the expo also saw 75 tourism presentation sessions and forums, as well as other sessions, with 20 more than last year.
The statement added that upon gathering opinions from the fair’s exhibitors and buyers, over 80 percent “expressed support for the next edition of MITE and interest in participation”.
