The Legislative Assembly Electoral Affairs Committee (CAEAL) is planning to design ballots especially for visually impaired voters, Tong Hio Fong, who heads the committee, said yesterday.
The direct and indirect legislative elections will be held on September 17.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting with officials of the Printing Bureau (IO) at the Public Administration Building in Rua do Campo, Tong said that among the feedback from the legislative elections four years ago was that visually-impaired electors needed to be accompanied by others to cast their votes, which worried some citizens about the confidentiality of their choices.
