Macau & HK productivity bodies co-host INC seminar

A seminar titled Macau GBA Industry Network Clusters (GBA-INC), co-hosted by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) and the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM), was held at the latter’s headquarters yesterday. 

Hong Kong Productivity Council Executive Director Mohamed Butt and his management team attended the event and talked to representatives of Macau enterprises and chambers of commerce about the advantages of Hong Kong-Macau connectivity and international application scenarios.

The GBA-INC* mechanism was launched by the HKPC, aiming to identify enterprise challenges, facilitate demand-driven, technological solutions, and strengthen partnerships among governments, industries, academia, and research institutions through visits to the nine GBA cities in Guangdong Province, aiming to set up a sustainable platform for innovation and resource- sharing across the GBA, CPTTM Senior Manager of External Cooperation and Development Carina Leong Sin Man said in a speech. 

Apart from the nine cities in Guangdong, the GBA also includes the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau.

Butt, on the other hand, emphasised that the event aims to empower enterprises and industries to identify emerging trends, address challenges head-on, and fully integrate into the national development blueprint, aiming to provide more development opportunities for Hong Kong and Macau enterprises. 

Butt underlined the collaborative achievements between the HKPC and the CPTTM. He said the objective of the ongoing cooperation between both was to provide practical support for enterprises.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the seminar, Leong that the CPTTM and HKPC have co-authored a GMP** reference book to help Macau’s pharmaceutical enterprises, build compliant factories and assist in the development of Macau’s traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and “big health” industry. She said that the book was slated to be released before the third quarter of this year.  *The Industry Network Clusters (INC) concept refers to interconnected groups of businesses, suppliers, service providers, and associated institutions within a specific industry or related industries that collaborate to enhance productivity, innovation, and competitiveness. – DeepSeek
