A young local woman “fell” from a residential building and died upon impact yesterday morning, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a statement yesterday.

According to the statement, the Public Security Police (PSP) notified the Judiciary Police (PJ) at 6:50 a.m. yesterday that a woman was lying on a residential building’s terrace on Rua de Bragança (布拉干薩街) in Taipa. The woman was rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead at the hospital. The Public Security Police then requested PJ officers go to the scene to investigate.

The statement did not say which hospital the victim had been taken to.

The deceased is a young local female.

After an on-site investigation, the victim’s injuries were found to be consistent with a fall from height, and no wounds indicative of criminal activity or violent assault were found on body.

The case has tentatively been classified as a body discovery case, and the exact cause of death has yet to be confirmed by forensic examination, the statement said.
