Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) Vice-President Peter Au Chi Keung said yesterday the government was planning a centre as a place for domestic violence culprits to have a “time-out” – giving them time to calm down after they have abused their spouses spouses or children.
Au made the remarks while speaking to reporters yesterday on the sidelines of an event to mark World Social Work Day, on the campus of the Macau Polytechnic Institute (IPM) in Zape.
The Law on Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence came into force in early October last year.
