The Macau Autism Association (MAA) will hold a string of events to mark World Autism Awareness Day 2017 next month to raise people’s awareness of autism.

The association’s director-general, Nicole Chan Sio Man, told reporters yesterday on the sidelines of a press conference about the upcoming events at the headquarters of Macau Cable TV that while some people with autism are very talented, they are not good at communicating with others.

According to Wikipedia, autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterised by impaired social interaction, verbal and non verbal communication, and restricted and repetitive behaviour.
