A spokesperson for the bureau told The Macau Post Daily yesterday that the measure would allow the company’s special radio taxis to pick up passengers more quickly, because the company will not need to dispatch all its taxis from its headquarters every time a customer requests its services.
The government signed an eight-year contract with the company at the end of September last year for it to start operating 50 special radio taxis on April 1 this year, after the government announced in early September that the company won the bid for a licence to operate up to 100 special radio taxis.
