The Public Security Police (PSP) apprehended a local woman on Monday for drunk driving and evading responsibility, with her blood alcohol concentration standing at 2.07 grams per litre, PSP spokesman Wong Wai Chon said during a regular press conference yesterday.

Wong identified the suspect as a female surnamed Fu in her thirties who works in public relations.

According to Wong, the Public Security Police (PSP) received a report on Monday night from a citizen who encountered Fu at the Macau Science Centre carpark, noticing that she was reeking of alcohol and that her car had been damaged.

Upon arrival, the police found no sign of neither the car nor the driver. Using their citywide CCTV surveillance, the police discovered that Fu first struck a kerb on Rua de Paris (巴黎街), then parked at the Macau Science Museum, and subsequently collided with the barrier of the flyover near the Macao Fisherman’s Wharf before heading towards the northern district. The police eventually intercepted Fu in Avenida 1 de Maio (勞動節大馬路). A breathalyser test confirmed her blood alcohol concentration at 2.07 grams per litre, indicating a drunk-driving offence.

Under questioning, Fu admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages in Zape before driving. However, she denied evading responsibility.

Fu has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing charges for drunk driving and evading responsibility.
