The Public Security Police (PSP) arrested a local man dressed in women’s clothing last Friday for spraying an unidentified liquid on the buttocks – trousers or skirts – of at least four local female passers-by near their hips, PSP spokesman Lam Keong said during a regular press conference yesterday.

Lam identified the suspect as a 43-year-old male surnamed Ho, who works as a mobile phone repairman.

According to Lam, the police received a report last Wednesday from a local woman who said that she had been sprayed with a purplish-red liquid on her trousers near her hips on September 11 and again last Wednesday near Avenida do Almirante Lacerda (提督馬路). This resulted in damage to two pairs of trousers valued at 1,650 patacas in total. Feeling sexually harassed, the woman immediately reported the incidents to the police after the second occurrence.

Lam noted that from August 11 to last Wednesday, Ho had dressed in women’s clothing and sprayed the liquid on the trousers and skirts, near their hips, of three other local female pedestrians, namely near Avenida do Almirante Lacerda(提督馬路), Rua dos Mercadores (營地大街), and near Conde de S. Januário Hospital Centre, before fleeing. One victim reported experiencing a burning sting after being sprayed. Through their citywide CCTV surveillance footage, the police identified Ho as the suspect and apprehended him near Avenida da Praia Grande (南灣大馬路) last Friday.

Under questioning, Ho admitted to mixing paint with water at home since February, placing the liquid into a plastic bottle, and spraying it on female pedestrians in the street dozens of times. The police seized the tools used in the crimes and the unidentified liquid from Ho’s flat on Avenida do Conselheiro Ferreira de Almeida (荷蘭園大馬路).

Lam added that the unidentified liquid has been sent to the Judiciary Police (PJ) for further testing.

Ho has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing charges of sexual harassment, causing bodily harm, and property damage.

Lam urged citizens who have encountered similar incidents to report to the Public Security Police (PSP) as soon as possible.

Police arrest local man for sexually harassing female NRW

Meanwhile, a local man was arrested on Saturday for sexually harassing a female non-resident worker (NRW) in the Patane area, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Lam Keong said during a regular press conference yesterday.

Lam identified the suspect as a 35-year-old male surnamed Lei, who claimed to be jobless. The victim is a mainland woman in her twenties.

According to Lam, the police received a report last Tuesday from the victim who said that she had been sexually harassed.

According to the victim’s statement to the police, last Tuesday at 8:30 p.m., while walking in the Patane area, Lei suddenly approached her and touched her chest before fleeing. Feeling sexually harassed, the woman immediately reported the case to the police.

Through their citywide CCTV surveillance, the police identified Lei as the suspect and apprehended him on Saturday in the Patane area.

Under questioning, Lei claimed that he had consumed alcoholic beverages that night and could not remember what had happened.

Lei has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a sexual harassment charge.
