The Identification Services Bureau (DSI) announced in a statement that it launched a new service on the “Macao One Account” app yesterday, allowing non-resident workers (NRWs) to apply online for the Certificate of Criminal Record for non-first-time application.

Prior to the launch, according to the official Macau Government website (www.gov.mo), if a non-Macau resident wants to apply for the Certificate of Criminal Record, the applicant can lodge an application at DSI by producing proof of residence/stay in Macau and other valid identification documents, for instance the original copy of his or her “Non-Resident Worker’s Permit” and a valid travel document or a notice of residence permit issued by Public Security Police (PSP).

According to the bureau, the new service enables holders of a NRW ID, who have previously applied for the certificate, to complete the process through the “Certificate of Criminal Record” service on their One Account app.

Applicants are required to authorise the bureau to obtain their personal data from the Public Security Police, before completing identification procedures and making an online payment, the statement said.

Applicants can choose to receive the certificate in either paper or electronic format, the statement said, adding that a transfer service is also available, allowing the bureau to send the certificate directly to a designated government entity of their choice, the statement added.

The initiative aims to streamline administrative formalities, reduce the need for in-person counter services, and improve convenience for the public, the statement said.
