The “Oktoberfest Macau at MGM 2025” celebration launched on Friday at MGM COTAI, bringing the festive atmosphere, food, beer, and music of the traditional Bavarian festival to Macau.
Held on the Roof Terrace of the Cotai integrated resort, this year marks the event’s 15th anniversary, having welcomed more than 190,000 guests since its inception.
Speaking at Friday’s opening ceremony, Kenneth Feng Xiaofeng, president and executive director of MGM China Holdings Limited, said: “This year, the festival will welcome its 200,000th guest – a true milestone that reflects MGM’s long-standing commitment to developing cultural and tourism products for Macau. Through this event, we aim to create synergy between gastronomy, tourism, culture, festivities, and entertainment, continuously injecting new energy into the city.”
Other officiating guests at the opening ceremony included the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hong Kong Annika Bolten-Drutschmann, Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) Acting Director Cheng Wai Tong, Director of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR, Sun Yaohua, German-Macau Business Association (GMBA) Chairman Tony Un (袁松山); and Högl Fun Band leader Michael Högl.
The Högl Fun Band performed several pieces at the opening ceremony, including the festival’s original theme, “Nei Hou, Macau!”, alongside a mix of traditional Bavarian tunes and pop classics.
In addition, the event features carnival games and children’s activities. This year also sees the introduction of a “Best Outfit Award”. According to an MGM statement, guests are encouraged to dress in themed attire to “embrace the Oktoberfest spirit.”
