Self-declared election monitor Jason Chao Teng Hei, the former vice-president of the grassroots New Macau Association (NMA), said yesterday that his new platform, “Project Just Macau”, has received three election-related complaints, and he urged the government to set up clear guidelines on regulating entities which allegedly use their public subsidies to “solicit political affiliation” from their staff members.

Project Just Macau is a website created by Chao and started operating early this month. The Chinese name of the website simply means “Monitoring the Elections in Macau”.

The next direct and indirect legislative elections will be held on September 17.
