The Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) announced in a statement yesterday that its trial version of the “Integrated Vocational Training Platform” on the “Macao One Account” platform has been launched, in order to align with the local government’s “1+4” strategy for appropriate economic diversification, and to further enhance citizens’ vocational skills and employment competitiveness.

According to the statement, residents can use the online platform to enrol in vocational training courses provided by three training institutions, namely the Labour Affairs Bureau, the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM), and the Macao University of Tourism (UTM), which annually account for approximately 60 percent of the total training courses in Macau, covering multiple key sectors. The platform also includes a feedback section to improve functions.

Meanwhile, the platform features a personal “Skills Passport” function, the statement said, adding that certificates and skill qualifications obtained from the three institutions will be automatically and systematically compiled on the platform, achieving digital unified management of personal training records, which provide a clear personal skills profile for employment, career transitions, promotions, or further education.

Moreover, residents can complete enquiries and enrolment for various vocational training and certification courses in a one-stop service on the platform. Users can first select their preferred industry; the platform will then filter relevant training courses, allowing citizens to accurately select and enrol in their target courses, the statement said.

The statement noted that the platform digitally integrates local vocational training resources, aiming to address issues such as fragmented training resources, scattered information, and inconvenient management of personal training records. Through three key measures – centralising training resources, digitalising skills management, and precision employment guidance, the platform further enhances the overall effectiveness of vocational training in Macau and provides greater convenience for residents participating in training, the statement said.

The Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) will continue to communicate and collaborate with various public and private training institutions, actively inviting and assisting relevant institutions to join the platform, according to the statement.
