The Shunde Federation & Commercial Union Association hosted a press conference yesterday about its upcoming 7-day food event entitled “THE CITIES OF GASTRONOMY (CHINA) IN MACAO 2025”, getting off the ground next Monday.
According to the president of the association and chairman of the event organising committee, Sunny Ip Sio Man, striving to promote Macau’s charm as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy and foster cultural preservation and sustainable development, his association will host a series of events from December 1 to 7.
Ip said that the event will bring together renowned chefs and industry leaders from six cities – Chaozhou, Chengdu, Huai’an, Shunde, Yangzhou, and Macau – featuring diverse formats such as “YUMMY FOOD TASTING ALL OVER MACAO”, “SPECIALTY FOOD TASTING” and “CHINA CULINARY DEVELOPMENT EXCHANGE FORUM”.
These initiatives, according to Ip, aim to deepen culinary cultural interactions among the cities and enhance Macau’s tourism image while promoting international gastronomic exchange.
According to a statement release during the press conference, the event’s launch ceremony of “YUMMY FOOD TASTING ALL OVER MACAO” will be held on Friday, in the runup to the December 1-7 event. The statement underlined that locals and tourists alike can enjoy one or two specially designated signature dishes per day at participating restaurants and eateries during specified time slots, all available at a promotional price.
The statement pointed out that 35 businesses are participating in the event, with nearly 40 outlets involved. The initiative intends to collectively promote and showcase Macau’s status as a UNESCO City of Gastronomy, contributing to the visibility and appreciation of its diverse culinary culture, the statement said.
The participating eateries include The Plaza Restaurant, La Paloma Restaurant, Mix Restaurant, L’Arc Chinese Restaurant, Son Tak Kong, and Fu Ying Cantonese Restaurant.
