Bib collection for GEG Macao Int’l Marathon opens

Bib collection for the 2025 Galaxy Entertainment Macao International Marathon began yesterday, according to a Tuesday statement from the Sports Bureau (ID).

The race is scheduled for Sunday, December 7, and is organised by the Sports Bureau, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG), and the General Association of Athletics of Macau.

Participants can collect their number bibs and information documents at Broadway Macau in Cotai from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. until tomorrow, and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday. Collection requires a registration receipt and identification document.

The statement noted that those unable to collect their bib in person may authorise someone else to do so. The authorised person must present their own ID, the signed registration receipt, and a copy of the participant’s identification.

This year’s event will feature 12,000 participants from 49 countries and regions, the statement said. Invited athletes include past champions such as Ethiopia’s Fikadu Debele and Russia’s Alexandra Morozova, alongside runners from Portuguese-speaking regions and other countries.

The popular “Most Creative Costume Award” will also return. Participants may upload a photo of their costume via the Macao International Marathon mobile app to enter. Prizes will be provided by GEG.
