The New Macau Association (NMA) petitioned the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) yesterday, suggesting that half to two thirds of the members of a planned qualification evaluation committee and discipline supervision committee should be from the veterinary sector.
The government launched a public consultation early last month on a bill regulating the city’s veterinarians and animal disease control. The public consultation document proposes that the qualification evaluation committee be responsible for licensing vets while the discipline supervision committee be tasked with investigating alleged malpractices by veterinarians.According to the document, the two committees will be formed by IACM.
