A local woman was arrested on Tuesday for trafficking and using drugs, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Cheong Siu Keong said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Cheong identified the suspect as a 43-year-old female surnamed Ho who claimed to be jobless.
According to Cheong, based on a tip-off, the Judiciary Police (PJ) identified Ho as a suspect smuggling drugs from Hong Kong to Macau on multiple occasions for her personal use and for sale. The police apprehended Ho early Tuesday morning when she was entering Macau through the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal.
The police seized a packet of heroin weighing 0.83 grams, with an estimated street value of about 1,000 patacas. They also confiscated syringes and various drug packaging tools from Ho. Cheong said that the police later seized more drug paraphernalia at Ho’s flat in Coloane. Cheong noted that Ho tested positive for heroin and has a history of drug use.
Ho has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing charges of drug use, drug trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia.
