A small number of cartons of milk for local schools went off due to damage to the cartons during transportation, Leong Vai Kei, chief of the Education Department of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ), said yesterday.

Leong made the remarks on the sidelines of a youth forum hosted by the bureau in memory of the 1919 May Fourth Movement, at the Macau Science Centre in Nape.

The bureau provides milk and soya milk, on alternate weeks, daily for pupils in kindergartens and primary schools.
