The Macao Orchestra (OM) will stage a special Valentine’s Day concert featuring performances by an international circus troupe, according to a statement released yesterday by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).
“Cirque de la Symphonie – Melodies of Movies” will commence on Valentine’s Day, February 14, at 8 p.m. at Broadway Theatre in Cotai. According to the statement, the orchestra will perform alongside the troupe Cirque de la Symphonie (“Circus of the Symphony”), blending symphonic music with aerial acts, acrobatics, magic, and dance.
Cirque de la Symphonie is a production known for bringing the magic of circus into the concert hall, according to the troupe’s website. The troupe features aerial flyers, acrobats, contortionists, dancers, and jugglers. The website statement noted that each artiste’s performance is professionally choreographed to classical and contemporary music in collaboration with the conductor.
The upcoming programme will feature classical pieces from ballet, opera, and Hollywood films, all together spanning several centuries. The statement noted that the circus members include Olympic medallists and world record holders, and the troupe has previously collaborated with over a hundred symphony orchestras worldwide.
The concert is presented by Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and includes support through its venue partnership pilot programme. The performance will last approximately 90 minutes, including an intermission.
Tickets are priced at 300 patacas, 220 patacas, and 150 patacas, and are now on sale through the Macau ticketing website www.macauticket.com.
The Macao Orchestra 2025-26 concert season is co-organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC), Macao Orchestra, and Macau’s six integrated resort operators, with support from the Bank of China Macau (BOC) Branch.
