Central People’s Government Liaison Office Director Wang Zhimin said yesterday that the three-day inspection visit of National People’s Congress (NPC) Standing Committee Chairman Zhang Dejiang was a success and was “deeply meaningful”.
Wang made the remarks after seeing Zhang off at the local airport. Chief Executive Fernando Chui Sai On, his predecessor Edmund Ho Hau Wah and other principal officials and community leaders, as well as 220 school children were also on hand to say farewell to the nation’s third highest ranked leader.Zhang arrived at the airport at 10:40 a.m. when he told reporters: “[The visit has been] very successful. [I’m] very satisfied. Thank you!” before boarding an Air China aircraft.
