The Public Security Police (PSP) apprehended a local man on Tuesday for drunk driving, with his blood alcohol concentration standing at 1.46 grams per litre, PSP spokesman Wong Chi Weng said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Wong identified the suspect as a technician in his forties surnamed Ho.
According to Wong, PSP officers conducting a vehicle check early Tuesday morning in Istmo de Ferreira do Amaral (關閘馬路), stopped the motorcycle driven by Ho. Upon inspection, the officers noticed that Ho was reeking of alcohol. A breathalyser test confirmed that Ho’s blood alcohol concentration was 1.46 grams per litre, indicating a drunk-driving offence.
Under questioning, Ho admitted to drinking alcoholic beverages in the Chinese mainland before riding home.
Ho has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a charge for drunk driving.
