In the Chinese mainland, the CNY holiday began on Sunday and will end on Monday. Macau’s three-day CNY holiday concluded yesterday. Since Sunday, Macau has recorded 1.1 million visitor arrivals, with visitors from the Chinese mainland reportedly accounting for about three-quarters of the total.

Earlier today, the police implemented crowd control measures around the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ruins of St Paul’s, the most popular landmark for visitors seeking photo opportunities.

At the end of September last year, Macau's population stood at 686,600, according to the latest available demographics, equating to 20,618 people per square kilometre, one of the world's highest.
