CEM Customer Liaison Committee Vice President Iun Iok Meng said yesterday he expected his company to transfer the plot of land, where the former CEM power station in Avenida de Venceslau de Morais is located, to the government in one and a half years’ time, adding that the demolition of the station is already underway.

Iun, who is also an advisor to the CEM Executive Committee, made the remarks while speaking to reporters after a regular meeting of the utility’s Customer Liaison Committee at Harbourview Hotel in Macau Fisherman’s Wharf.

The government plans to build a public housing project providing up to 1,000 units as well as a government service building on the site.
