The full selection of the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2026 was unveiled during the ceremony for the 18th edition of The MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong & Macau last night at Grand Lisboa Place (GLP) in Cotai, with Macau this year seeing two restaurants awarded a One MICHELIN Star rating each.

The MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong & Macau 2026 comprises 278 establishments, 59 of which are in Macau, or 21 percent. Among the Macau awardees recognised yesterday, GLP’s “Don Alfonso 1890” and “Palace Garden” were the newest recipients of the One MICHELIN Star accolade, both moving up from the MICHELIN Selected category.

Six Macau restaurants have meanwhile retained their two MICHELIN Star ratings, while Jade Dragon at City of Dreams (COD) and Robuchon au Dôme at Grand Lisboa have both retained their Three MICHELIN Star ratings.

In all, of the total 21 MICHELIN Starred restaurants in Macau, two possess the 3 MICHELIN Star rating, six are 2 MICHELIN Starred, and 13 are 1 MICHELIN Starred including the newly awarded restaurants.

In terms of the other awards presented, the public Macao University of Tourism (UTM) retained its Green Star this year, while The Huiyang Garden’s Jenny Ye was recognised with the “Service Award”. The total number of Bib Gourmand* awarded restaurants in Macau stands at 13, including one that was newly added and another that was promoted, while there are 25 MICHELIN Selected, of which five are new, according to data from the MICHELIN Guide.

Tananya Nimasdavut, vice president of Michelin Lifestyle – East Asia, Oceania & Middle East, highlighted during her speech at yesterday’s ceremony that this year marked the centenary since the first MICHELIN Star was awarded in 1926. Nimasdavut also pointed out that throughout the decades, Macau and Hong Kong have “consistently upheld the highest standards of culinary achievement, inspiring admiration and setting a benchmark for excellence that resonate worldwide”

Moreover, during her speech, SJM Managing Director Daisy Ho Chiu-fung said that this marked the fifth consecutive year that SJM has hosted the MICHELIN Guide Ceremony. She noted that the event was “an occasion the industry anticipates every year because Michelin carries a rare authority in the world of dining. It is not simply a red plaque displayed on a wall. It represents credibility and consistency.

“The Guide embodies standards the profession holds in the highest regard, and welcoming this occasion to Macau reflects our enduring commitment to culinary excellence”, she added.

*The Bib Gourmand is a special distinction honouring restaurants that provide outstanding food with excellent value, according to the MICHELIN Guide website.
