National high-speed rail link to Macau possible: engineer

A railway engineer from the mainland said in Macau yesterday it was possible that the national high-speed railway network will ultimately be connected to Macau.

Zhao Guotang, vice general engineer of China Railway Group Limited, yesterday delivered a speech about the development of the nation’s high-speed railway system at an event attended by local deputies to the National People’s Congress (NPC) and local members of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

Secretary for Economy and Finance Lionel Leong Vai Tac and Legislative Assembly (AL) President Ho Iat Seng attended the talks in their capacity as local NPC members.
