Integrated resort operator Sands Macao celebrated its 22nd anniversary on Monday and continued its long-standing community tradition of presenting special lunch boxes to local taxi drivers.
The tradition has been held since Sands Macao opened in 2004, annually providing local drivers with special lunches as part of its anniversary celebration, Sands China said in a statement that day. The tradition shows appreciation for the cabbies’ “enduring contributions to Macau’s tourism industry”, the statement added.
The event, which took place midday that day, had Sands China Ltd. Senior Vice President of International Marketing Thomas Pang (彭立基) and other management staff greeting taxi drivers at the hotel’s main entrance and presenting each driver with the special anniversary lunch box with a “thoroughly curated menu” designed to convey gratitude and appreciation to the taxi drivers, the statement said.
“As Sands Macao enters its 22nd year, Sands China looks forward to continuing to work hand in hand with its team members and the wider community – upholding the spirit of cooperation and shared prosperity to jointly contribute to Macao’s development as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure”, the statement pointed out.
