Bar Patuá at MGM COTAI will again be hosting its Traveler’s Whisper guest mixologist series, with the event taking place on July 27 and 29, according to a statement yesterday from integrated resort operator MGM.
The statement said that the event will feature acclaimed bartenders from China’s Taiwan region and Seoul, whose bars have been recognised by the Asia’s 50 Best Bars list.
The “Traveler’s Whisper at Bar Patuá: Letter #6” on July 27 will be themed “Formosa Medley” and will feature four acclaimed bars from Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung and Tainan, bringing with them their “signature flavour philosophies”.
“Formosa” (“Beautiful”) is the historical Portuguese name of China’s Taiwan region.
Showcasing Taiwanese cocktails, the event lineup will comprise Summer Chen, co-founder of Vender, ranked No. 20 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025; Mars Chang, founder of To Infinity and Beyond, ranked No. 41; Nono Yu, co-founder of The Han-Jia Pairing Dinner, ranked No. 59; and Juliette Lai, manager of MALTAIL, ranked No. 75.
Meanwhile, on July 29, a three-cocktail menu “crafted with traditional Korean spirits and whisky, alongside regional ingredients and cultural inspirations” will be presented by Seoul’s Bar Cham (참Cham) founder and head mixologists Byungjin Lim and Yeonghwi Yun (Hwi). Their bar sits ranked No. 6 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2025 for the sixth consecutive year and No. 53 on The World’s 50 Best Bars.
