A local man has been arrested for abusing his wife and two daughters for over a decade, generally after getting drunk, and for an attack on a police officer, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Wong Wai Chon said yesterday.
According to Wong, both the suspect, surnamed Ng, and his wife are about 40 years old, while their daughters are secondary school pupils. Wong said Ng is a businessman and all the family members are locals.
Wong said the victims asked the police for help on Sunday night after they had been slapped by Ng. When a police officer arrived at their flat in Rua de Xangai, Ng was agitated, verbally threatening and taking pictures of the officer, according to Wong.
