The Judiciary Police (PJ) arrested two men on Sunday for cheating a businesswoman from the mainland out of jade worth 1.8 million yuan, PJ spokesman Chan Cho Man said during a regular press conference yesterday.

Chan identified the two male suspects as a 37-year-old local man surnamed Wong and a 54-year-old man surnamed Luo from the mainland. Chan identified the victim as a jade jewellery trader.

According to Chan, a friend of the victim introduced Wong and a woman to the victim. Wong and the woman told the victim they were “intermediaries” in the jade jewellery trade. Chan did not say where and when the victim first met them.
