The “Technological Innovation Industry-Academia-Research Reverse Business Matching” event was held at Studio City in Cotai on Friday, drawing more than 130 attendees, according to a statement released that day by Melco Resorts & Entertainment.

The statement noted that the event, organised by the integrated resort operator in conjunction with the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) and the public Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT), was carried out by the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre (MYEIC).

Participating were invited representatives from certified local tech enterprises, tech firms based at the Macau International Technology Industry Centre (CPTTM), strategic partners from the Zhongguancun Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Youth Innovation Center, and research teams from higher education institutions, the statement added.

“Real-world operational challenges were presented by Melco representatives from teams including Food & Beverage, Facility Services, House of Dancing Water and Environmental Services, inviting attendees to collaborate and co-create high-tech solutions,” the statement said.

The statement quoted Melco Board Director Clarence Chung Yuk Man as saying during the event: “This collaborative matching session offers actionable opportunities for home-grown innovation to thrive, driving new momentum for Macau’s non-gaming economic development.”

Among the guests attending the event were Sun Yaohua, director of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR); FDCT Administrative Committee President Vincent U U Sang; and DSEDT Deputy Director Chan Chou Weng.
