The operation of the Transportation Infrastructure Office (GIT) will be extended for a further three years, to November 1, 2020, according to an announcement published in the Official Gazette (BO) yesterday.
The office was set up in 2007 as a “project team” for five years for the construction of the Light Rail Transit (LRT). In 2012, the operation of the office was extended for another five years.
The government had said previously that it planned to establish a company to replace the Transportation Infrastructure Office this year, to handle the LRT project and operate the system.
