The Macao Film and Television Industry Service Centre began its trial operation yesterday, providing consultation and referral services to help the city’s film and television industry connect with the Chinese mainland and expand market opportunities, according to a statement by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC).
Established by the bureau, the centre is located at the IC headquarters in Praça do Tap Siac, the statement said, adding that its services include employment information and job referrals in the mainland, guidance on company registration procedures, and information on policies, regulations and copyright protection for film and television projects seeking to operate, film or distribute in the mainland.
The centre will also assist local film makers and television producers seeking to participate in mainland film festivals, the statement said, while providing information on filming permit applications, public screening classification and assessment, and the organisation of related activities in Macau.
The statement underlined that briefings on mainland policies and industry exchange activities will also be organised. In order to facilitate access to resources in the mainland, the centre will establish a cooperation mechanism with the Guangdong Film and Television Comprehensive Service Platform, offering in-person and online enquiries as well as industry activities.
Industry members must make an appointment by email or telephone and provide preliminary details of their project, the statement noted, adding that enquiries or appointments can be made by contacting the bureau on 8399 6356 during office hours or by emailing isc.info@icm.gov.mo.
