A company which owns a big plot of land on Ilha Verde Hill has promised to clean up the hill, Ilha Verde District Welfare and Mutual Help Association Cheong Chit said yesterday.
Commentators and lawmakers have complained about environmental problems caused by large amounts of rubbish and construction material waste piling up there.
Speaking to reporters near the foot of the hill, Cheong said his group had recently contacted the company which promised to clean up the hill and put up metal hoardings around it, in order to prevent further dumping on the hill.
