The local government launched a dedicated website on Friday under the theme “Fulfilling the Space Dream Together, Joining Hands for National Rejuvenation”, following the successful launch of the Shenzhou 23 manned spacecraft*, according to a statement by the government.
The website highlights aerospace-themed promotional activities organised in Macau and Hong Kong, as well as the development of the nation’s space technology and the two special administrative regions’ participation in the country’s aerospace programme, the statement noted.
The government said that the initiative aims to support Macau’s integration into and contribution to national development, while promoting technological innovation and science education, the statement noted, underlining that it will also help local residents, particularly young people and students, learn more about the development and achievements of their country’s manned space programme.
According to the statement, the website features updates on Shenzhou 23, the latest aerospace-related activities in Macau and Hong Kong, the country’s aerospace development, achievements by local residents participating in the national aerospace programme, and science education resources.
An interactive section includes electronic postcards and “Macau Letters”, allowing residents to send greetings, encouragement and support to the Shenzhou 23 astronauts.
The government encouraged residents to visit the dedicated website (https://www.gcs.gov.mo/aerospacedream/) to learn about China’s aerospace achievements and explore Macau’s contributions to the national aerospace programme, the statement noted.
The website is only available in the Chinese and Portuguese languages.
*Shenzhou 23 is a Chinese crewed spaceflight launched on May 24, 2026, to conduct research and station maintenance aboard the Tiangong space station. The mission crew consists of commander Zhu Yangzhu, flight operator Zhang Zhiyuan, and payload specialist Lai Ka-ying, who made history as the first taikonaut from Hong Kong. As part of the crew’s operational objectives, Zhang is scheduled to complete a full-year stay in orbit to evaluate long-duration spaceflight effects ahead of China’s planned lunar missions. – Gemini
