In alignment with the government’s talent cultivation policy and efforts to attract more professional training and international certification exams to Macau, the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM) inaugurated its International and Professional Examination Centre yesterday.
The opening ceremony for the newly established centre took place on the third floor of the World Trade Centre Macau (WTCM) in Nape yesterday. The centre features independent registration and testing rooms.
According to a CPTTM statement yesterday, the centre is equipped with “rigorous examination management systems recognised by authoritative international bodies”, alongside advanced computer hardware and software, providing comprehensive venues and technical support for various professional and international certification exams.
The statement added that over 30 international, national, and regional certification examination programmes have established testing sites in Macau, spanning fields such as information technology (IT), finance, accounting, business administration, languages, and international study-abroad standardised testing.
CPTTM Chairman Eric Yeung Tsun Man noted in his speech that his centre has assisted nearly 85,000 attendees to obtain professional certificates.
Yeung underscored that the newly established examination centre will not only provide a more comprehensive and diverse professional testing platform, but will also introduce more internationally certified exams to Macau, fostering professional talent to support the government’s appropriate economic diversification.
Exam + Tourism
Yeung also noted that the Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre recently hosted an examination that attracted numerous candidates from surrounding regions, laying a solid foundation for developing a new “Exam + Tourism” study-tour model in the future.
Situated in Nape (Outer Harbour New Land Reclamation Zone), the centre benefits from nearby hotels, dining options, attractions, and commercial facilities, Yeung noted, pointing out that examinees from various places visiting Macau for exams and study tours will stay an extra day or two, transforming the foot traffic generated by examinations into a new driving force for Macau’s study-tour tourism and economic diversification.
Yeung added that the examination centre aims to be a “two-way hub” introducing more overseas and international certification exams to provide testing venues for candidates in Macau and surrounding regions, and introducing more of the Chinese mainland’s certification exams to help young local people and those elsewhere obtain the Chinese mainland’s qualifications, thereby better integrating them into the development of the Greater Bay Area (GBA), he noted.
