Hengqin’s first-ever area of staffed service counters for Macau’s public administration services came into operation yesterday.
Hitherto, Macau residents in Hengqin wishing to use Macau’s public administration services could only use one of the two 24/7 self-service centres set up by the Macau government there. Alternatively, those wishing to use staffed service counters had to return to Macau to do so.
Following the launch yesterday, the staffed counters currently cover services from four Macau public entities: the Identification Services Bureau (DSI), the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT), the Pharmaceutical Supervision and Administration Bureau (ISAF), and the Financial Services Bureau (DSF), according to a statement released through the Macao Government Information Bureau (GCS) yesterday.
Nine service counters are now in operation there, providing 63 services from the four entities.
The service counters are open Monday through Friday.
Civil servants from Macau will work at the service counters at designated times. During other times, Macau residents will be served by civil servants from Hengqin’s Commercial Services Bureau at the counters, where they are tasked only with receiving application documents and providing consultation services.
