The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement yesterday that it will stage “The Unknown I-land”, its sixth commissioned performing arts production under its 2024-2026 programme, at the Macao Cultural Centre (CCM) in Nape on November 14 and 15, alongside a presentation session aimed at promoting local works and exploring collaboration opportunities with arts organisations from other regions.
The production will be staged at CCM’s Box II, the statement said, adding that during its run, the bureau will hold a Local Programme Presentation Session on November 14 at 4:45 p.m., inviting representatives from stage production companies, theatres and arts festivals from the Chinese mainland and neighbouring regions to exchange ideas with Macau’s performing arts industry, the statement noted.
The session aims to provide a platform for local artists and organisations to showcase original productions and explore potential collaborations, the statement said, adding that applications are open to locally registered associations or companies related to performing arts, as well as individuals aged 18 or above who hold a Macau Resident Identity Card (BIR).
The session will be conducted primarily in Putonghua, without interpretation, and each presentation will be limited to five minutes, the statement said, adding that interested parties can now download the application form from the bureau’s website at www.icm.gov.mo until 5:00 p.m. on November 9.
Completed forms must be submitted by email to cpap@icm.gov.mo, the statement said, adding that places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The session is also open to observers.
The statement underlined that the Cultural Affairs Bureau has continued to establish platforms for Macau’s performing arts sector to present their work, exchange ideas and connect with resources from other regions, helping local artists expand their professional networks and development opportunities.
