The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) announced in a statement on Saturday that it is inviting residents and visitors to enter its “Tourism and ‘Leisure’ Buses: Exploring Community Charms” Photography Contest, with submissions open until November 30.
Organised by MGTO and coordinated by the Photographic Society of Macao (PSM), the contest aims to encourage participants to explore local communities and capture their cultural features, everyday scenery and stories through photography, the statement said, adding that entries must feature scenery from communities covered by the “Tourism and ‘Leisure’ Buses: Exploring Community Charms” programme. Details are available on the programme’s mobile website https://leisurebus.dsedt.gov.mo.
According to the statement, the contest has three categories: Youth Group, Open Group and Visitor Group. Participants must be aged 12 or above and may enter only one category. Each entrant can submit up to 10 photographs, the statement said.
Completed entry forms and photo works must be emailed to the Photographic Society of Macao at psm_2015@yahoo.com.hk by November 30, the statement underlined, adding that contest regulations and entry forms are available on the society’s website https://www.psm.org.
A judging panel comprising MGTO representatives and industry professionals will assess entries based on their relevance to the theme, overall aesthetics and creative expression, the statement highlighted.
Each category will award first, second and third prizes, as well as 10 merit awards, the statement said, noting that the respective cash prizes are 3,000, 2,000, 1,000, and 500 patacas, with awardees also receiving a trophy or plaque, as well as a certificate.
The programme, launched in April in partnership with Macau’s six integrated resort enterprises and upgraded in July, aims to encourage visitors to explore local communities and support community spending.
