Women’s General Association of Macau Vice-President Wong Kit Cheng, who is also a lawmaker, urged the government yesterday to strengthen the promotion of breastfeeding and make it easier for mothers to breastfeed in Macau.

The association is generally known as Fu Luen, its Cantonese name.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a prize-giving ceremony for the Family-Friendly Employers Award given by the association to local employers, Wong said there are about 100 breastfeeding rooms in Macau, most of them on premises under the portfolio of Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture.
