Macau Post and Telecommunications Bureau (CTT) Director Lau Wai Meng said yesterday that the government has fined telecom operator CTM 104,000 patacas for a partial failure of its Internet service in April.
Lau made the remarks while speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the launch of a new stamp collection in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Social Welfare Bureau (IAS), at the Macau Science Centre in Nape.
A partial failure of CTM’s Internet service occurred for several hours on the night of April 18, which affected about 30,000 customers, was caused by a “software defect” in its system.
