The Macau Customs Service admitted in a statement yesterday that its staff mistakenly raised the national flag upside down on the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal yesterday morning and that it was due to “negligence” by the officers in charge.

The Customs Service apologised for the mistake, pointing out that its officers immediately rectified the incident after becoming aware of it, the statement said.

According to government-owned broadcaster TDM, the national flag was raised at 7:10 a.m., adding that the mistake was only rectified at 12:10 p.m.
