The Health Bureau (SSM) yesterday apologised for a number of passers-by slipping over outside the Barrier Gate border checkpoint due to oil spilt during its mosquito prevention and control work.
The bureau said in a statement yesterday that its staff carried out regular mosquito prevention and control work at the plaza outside the Barrier Gate border checkpoint on Monday afternoon.
The statement said that some of the workers did not follow the guidelines when they sprayed the larvicidal oil into drains, adding that it resulted in oil being spilt on the ground around the drains and that it caused a number of passers-by to slip over.
